What do the initials “ASI” stand for?
Arthur Smith Industries. Established in 1965, by Arthur Smith III, Grandson of the founder of the A.O. But the company’s growth did not occur until it was purchased by George Balbach in 1974. At that time ASI was the first and only U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass doors. Today, ASI manufactures a comprehensive selection of high performance door systems for the pharmaceutical, refrigerated, government security and commercial markets.
