Vice President of Sales

Position Summary
The Vice President of Sales reports to the CEO and is a member of the company’s executive team. The VP of Sales is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation, distribution, and sales strategy. The VP of Sales will drive the company’s achievement of profitable revenue growth and goal fulfillment.

Responsibilities
• Lead the organization’s sales strategies in the interest of profitable growth.
• Lead and manage the sales organization – both internal and external.
• Manage the quote-to-order process including continuous improvement.
• Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.
• Manage high-profile customers and channel partners.
• Continually look for ways to enhance company sales efficiency and productivity.
• Recommends compensation, training, and sales incentive programs.
• Manage the sales forecasting process with finance and operations.
• Provide market insight and participate in the new product development process.
• Monitor and stay apprised of market and competitive dynamics.
• Manage the company’s CRM system.
• Assist in marketing strategy and execution.
• 50% travel expected.

Education and/or Experience
1. 5-10 years of national sales experience in industrial manufacturing, including sales through distribution and national accounts, with 4 years in a senior sales management position.
2. Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
3. Direct end-user and distribution management.
4. Experienced in architectural presentations.
5. Established contacts and relationships with potential customers and channel partners.
6. Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive-level customers and partners.
7. Proven sales track record in new product/new market environments.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
9. Experience with a specific sales methodology, sales funnel management.
10. Experience in choosing, deploying, and using marketing and sales applications.
11. Capacity to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time.
