ASI Doors Limited Warranty Policy
Complete Door Systems, Warranty Service Labor, and Replacement Parts
1. Scope and Beneficiary
ASI Doors, Inc. ("ASI") provides this limited warranty solely to the original customer purchasing the applicable ASI product. This warranty is not transferable unless ASI expressly agrees otherwise in writing. This policy applies to complete door systems manufactured by ASI (each, a "Door System") and to replacement parts purchased separately from ASI, subject to the distinct terms stated below.
2. Complete Door System Material Warranty
Except as otherwise stated in an ASI quotation, order acknowledgment, or product-specific written warranty, each complete Door System manufactured by ASI is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original shipment by ASI.
The following models are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for two (2) years from the date of original shipment: DURA-Roll 109, ISO-Swing 220, ISO-Slide 1200, and ISO-Flex. Contact ASI Doors for questions regarding any other model warranty terms.
The extended two-year material warranty does not extend the warranty-service labor period described in Section 3.
3. Warranty-Service Labor for Complete Door Systems
For an approved defect in a complete Door System, warranty-service labor may be covered for one (1) year from the date of original shipment, but only under the following conditions:
- ASI has confirmed in writing that the reported condition is covered by this limited warranty before work begins.
- ASI controls and dictates the scope and terms of all warranty work, including the troubleshooting steps, repair method, parts to be used, number of technicians, labor classification, allowable labor rate, estimated hours, scheduling requirements, and any other reimbursable service terms.
- The customer or service provider must submit a written labor and travel estimate in advance. No labor or travel expense is authorized unless ASI provides prior written approval and, when required by ASI, an ASI purchase order number.
- ASI will reimburse only the actual, reasonable, documented labor charges that fall within ASI's written authorization. Any work, time, rate, fee, or expense exceeding ASI's authorization is the responsibility of the customer.
- Travel-time reimbursement is limited to a maximum total of two (2) hours for the entire round trip per approved service visit. Travel time exceeding two hours is not reimbursable unless ASI expressly approves it in writing before the visit.
- Mileage, fuel surcharges, lodging, airfare, meals, per diem, tolls, parking, administrative fees, overtime premiums, emergency-call premiums, tools, equipment rental, and similar charges are not covered unless ASI expressly approves the specific charge in writing in advance.
- No labor or travel reimbursement will be made for diagnostic or repair work that ASI determines was unnecessary, unrelated to a covered defect, improperly performed, inadequately documented, or performed without following ASI instructions.
4. Replacement Parts Limited Warranty
Replacement parts purchased separately from ASI are covered by a limited material-only warranty for sixty (60) days from the date the replacement part is shipped by ASI. During this period, ASI warrants only that the replacement part will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal, proper use.
Warranty labor is not covered under any circumstances for replacement-parts orders. The customer is solely responsible for all troubleshooting, removal, installation, programming, adjustment, travel, freight, downtime, and other labor or service expense associated with a replacement part, even when ASI determines that the part itself is defective.
Discontinued, obsoleted, closeout, legacy, or otherwise unsupported parts are sold without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. ASI may identify such parts on a quotation, order acknowledgment, invoice, packing document, or other written communication.
A part furnished by ASI as a warranty remedy for a Door System or for another part does not restart or extend the original applicable warranty period. Any such part is covered only for the unexpired balance of the original warranty period, unless ASI states otherwise in writing.
5. Warranty Exclusions
This limited warranty does not apply to, and ASI has no responsibility for, any defect, failure, damage, or expense arising from:
- improper or incomplete installation; installation contrary to ASI drawings, instructions, or applicable codes;
- abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, impact, vandalism, unauthorized repair, alteration, modification, or use outside the product's intended application or rated conditions;
- failure to inspect, maintain, clean, lubricate, adjust, or operate the product in accordance with the applicable ASI Owner's Manual or service instructions;
- normal wear and tear or routine maintenance items, including adjustments, alignments, tensioning, cleaning, lubrication, batteries, bulbs, fuses, seals, gaskets, weather stripping, curtains, vision panels, finishes, coatings, or other consumable or wear components unless ASI determines that a material or workmanship defect caused the failure;
- corrosion, chemical attack, moisture intrusion, condensation, freezing, excessive heat, fire, flood, wind, lightning, power irregularity, electrical surge, improper voltage, building movement, site conditions, or other external causes;
- use of non-ASI parts, controls, accessories, or software that causes or contributes to the reported condition;
- freight damage, storage damage, or damage occurring after shipment, except to the extent separately accepted by the responsible carrier;
- failure to provide timely notice, preserve evidence, return requested material, or otherwise comply with the claim procedures in this policy.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Periodic inspection, preventive maintenance, adjustment, and safe operation are the sole responsibility of the customer. The customer must maintain service records and make them available to ASI upon request. The customer must take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage after discovering a potential defect. Costs resulting from continued operation after a known or reasonably discoverable problem are not covered.
7. Warranty Claim Procedure
1. Notice and evidence. Notify ASI in writing within thirty (30) days after the claimed defect is discovered or reasonably should have been discovered, and before expiration of the applicable warranty period. Provide the ASI job number, product model and serial number, shipment date if known, a detailed description of the condition, photographs or video, fault history, maintenance records, and any other information reasonably requested by ASI.
2. ASI review and authorization. Allow ASI a reasonable opportunity to troubleshoot and inspect. Do not begin outside labor or replace components unless ASI provides written direction or authorization. ASI may require remote diagnostics, specified tests, or use of an ASI-designated service provider.
3. Returned material. If ASI requires return of a part or product, ASI will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Returned material must be accompanied by the RMA and shipped as directed by ASI. Unless ASI states otherwise in writing, freight to ASI is prepaid by the customer, and the customer is responsible for removal, packaging, and protection of the returned material.
4. Replacement invoicing and credit. ASI may invoice replacement parts or equipment when shipped. If ASI verifies that the returned item is defective and covered, ASI will issue the applicable credit. No credit is due for material that is not returned when requested, is returned without authorization, or is determined not to be defective or covered.
5. Labor documentation. For approved complete Door System warranty labor, the service provider must submit an itemized invoice showing the ASI purchase order number, service date, technician name, on-site labor hours, travel hours, approved rate, work performed, parts used, and results. Payment is limited to the terms authorized by ASI in writing.
8. ASI Remedy
If ASI determines that a timely claim is covered, ASI will, at its sole option, repair the defective product, replace the defective product or component, or issue a credit in an amount determined by ASI. ASI may use new, repaired, remanufactured, or functionally equivalent components. Repair, replacement, or credit is the customer's exclusive and sole remedy for breach of this limited warranty.
9. Disclaimer of Other Warranties
THE FOREGOING LIMITED WARRANTY IS ASI'S EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS COVERED BY THIS POLICY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ASI DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ASI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST PRODUCTION, LOSS OF USE, DOWNTIME, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, SUBSTITUTE EQUIPMENT, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ASI WAS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. ASI'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM A PRODUCT OR CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID TO ASI FOR THE PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
11. General Terms
No ASI employee, representative, distributor, dealer, installer, or service provider may modify or expand this limited warranty unless the modification is contained in a written agreement signed by an authorized ASI officer. ASI's failure to enforce any provision does not waive that provision. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Product-specific written warranty terms issued by ASI control over conflicting general language in this policy.
